Mantar Lamps started in Istanbul — the word “Mantar” means mushroom in Turkish, which explains the brand’s signature rounded-cap silhouette — and is now headquartered in Calgary, Canada. The brand’s pitch is straightforward: cordless, rechargeable lamps that look like they were picked out of a design showroom rather than a hardware store. That positioning has earned them placement in properties associated with Marriott, Hyatt, Four Seasons, and the Ritz-Carlton, and coverage in publications including Vogue and Architectural Digest.
What Mantar Lamps Sells
The catalog spans roughly two dozen lamp styles organized loosely into collections: mushroom-shaped (the original Mantar design), crystal forms, metallic finishes, fabric shades, and sculptural pieces like the Kalem. Nearly every lamp in the range is fully cordless and USB-rechargeable, with touch-activated controls.
Most models include dimming and multiple color temperature settings. A few, like the Ambient Candle, are fixed at a single warm color temperature (2300K in that case) without a dimming option. That distinction matters if you want flexible lighting — check the individual product page for controls before buying.
Standout Models
The Mantar™ Table Lamp is the original: approximately 21 cm (about 8 inches) tall, iron and acrylic construction with metal plating, an 8-hour battery, and 3-hour charge time. It’s the compact entry point into the range.
The Kalem™ Sculpting Table Lamp is the most spec-heavy option — 5,200 mAh battery, 270 lumens at 2700K (warm white), and a CRI over 90, meaning colors look accurate under it. Runtime stretches from 6.5 hours at maximum brightness to 20 hours at the lowest setting. It comes in two heights: 13 inches or 16.9 inches.
The Ambient™ Metallic sits at 10.8 inches tall, produces 600 lumens across three color temperatures (warm 3000K, neutral 4500K, cool 6500K), and carries an IP66 rating — the most versatile pick if you want something for an outdoor table or a bathroom counter.
The Luna Crystal uses a transparent thermoplastic body with a diamond-inspired texture. At 12-hour runtime and 1.5W output, it’s a nightlight-level ambient lamp rather than a task lamp, available in a standard white light, a tri-natural setting, or an RGB version.
The Ambient Candle™ takes a candlestick shape with an aluminum base and glass shade. Its 16-hour runtime is the longest in the range, and the 2300K color temperature produces the warmest, most candlelike glow available across the lineup.
Shipping, Returns & Warranty
Mantar Lamps ships free when you order two or more lamps; single-lamp orders have a shipping cost. The return window is 30 days from delivery. Items must be returned unused, with tags, in original packaging. A restocking fee applies based on the item’s value. Sale items are not eligible for return. To start a return, email [email protected] or call +1 (437) 370-4427.
The Luna Crystal Lamp includes a 2-year warranty. For other models, contact the brand directly for model-specific warranty terms.
Is Mantar Lamps Worth It vs. Alternatives
The closest mainstream alternative is a battery-powered table lamp from IKEA’s SYMFONISK or VAPPEBY lines, which are less expensive but also less stylish. At the other end of the market, designer cordless lamps from Fatboy or Lexon can cost significantly more than Mantar while offering similar ambient output. Mantar occupies the gap between budget and premium: the specs are real (IP66 ratings, high CRI, solid battery figures), the designs are genuinely distinctive, and the price sits in a range that most people can justify for a bedroom or dining table.
The one honest limitation is output: these are ambient lamps, not primary light sources. If your goal is to light a home office desk for several hours of focused work, a purpose-built desk lamp with higher lumen output would serve better.
The Fabric Range
Alongside the metal and crystal models, Mantar also offers fabric table lamps — the Mira, Bulgar, Pamu, Doku, and Kumas styles. These have a softer visual profile than the polished metal or transparent crystal designs, using fabric shades that diffuse light more evenly. The specific specs (battery capacity, lumens, dimensions) vary by model and are listed on each individual product page; if fabric over metal is a priority for your space, those listings are worth checking directly before ordering.
Colour and Finish Options
Most Mantar models come in multiple colorways. Metal models are typically available in matte black, rose gold, or brushed silver. The Luna Crystal comes in white, tri-natural light, and RGB LED. The Kalem is available in natural and black finishes. Checking the colour options on the product page matters because availability can shift as certain colorways sell out or are updated.
How We Researched This Review
We reviewed Mantar Lamps’ product catalog, individual product specification pages, shipping and returns policies, and brand materials at mantarlamps.com. Specific technical figures — dimensions, lumens, battery capacity, CRI, and IP ratings — are taken directly from individual product pages. We did not purchase or test the lamps ourselves.
